In fact, you can use black powder or Pyrodex. (I prefer black powder, although a little more difficult to clean after shooting.) You need a "buffer" in the dust to "seal" the barrel and a taco in field to remain in the barrel. (Like the internal parts of a shotgun shell.) Also need a stick, which should have come with the gun. Unfortunately, Lead ammunition is not legal in many areas for hunting.
