Can you make musket balls, instead of helmets in a muzzleloader of modern times?

you can, but you are not as precise as you have a weapon with a tower 66 inches optimized for the search for the ball all year. in most of the line muzzleloader is 1 in 24 "twist to stabilize heavy projectiles sabot pistol and a round ball patch is likely to leave the band and make the theft or breakage of the rigid patch twist. 1 in 48 "twist is a good compromise. this is not ideal for the two round balls or conical bullets long, but usually take one or the other with sufficient accuracy. 1 in 48 seems to do slightly better with the ball greased pure lead, no shoes. but according to the depth and type of the band (wide shallow grooves are best for a 1 in 48), some of them revolving around ball very well and when these are not growing rapidly with additional heavy powder charges.
